I think there are three things to look for when you are trying to choose a photographer: a portfolio that you think looks great, a friendly personality and a photo package price that fits your budget.

 

You should enjoy the creative work of your photographer, appreciating their art and style on a personal level. While it is not expected that you become best friends with your photographer, in your initial consultation you should be sure that they listen to your ideas and make helpful suggestions. Note whether they answer your questions clearly and if they show an interest in your ideas and special requests.

“Will we have some posed formal portraits, as well as spontaneous and more casual photos?” Yes, absolutely! Because a large number of people traditionally come together for a wedding, and because extended family members often haven’t seen each other for some time, it is so important to have a good record of who was there, especially with inter-generational photos. Don’t worry, we will keep the formal session moving quickly – and we will have fun doing it!

 

“We’re so busy. Do we really have to meet you before the wedding?” No, you really don’t have to meet me before the wedding BUT I strongly encourage you to take advantage of the consultation that goes with each price package. This allows us to meet and confirm that we will work well together. I want to hear about your wedding, the location, plans for the day – and also talk about any particular locations where you would like a special photograph taken and make lists of those you want included in the more formal photos. We will keep track of those lists of names so it’s one less thing you will have to think about and remember in the busyness of your wedding day. This ensures that no one will be forgotten.

 

“Do you do location weddings?” Yes, I will gladly do location weddings. Location weddings will include the cost of travel and accommodation in addition to my usual fees.

First of all, I want to let you know that because my couples deserve my undivided attention for their wedding, I have an exclusive booking policy. I NEVER book two weddings on the same day.

• A “second shooter” to capture impromptu shots
• Your First Edition photos posted with my online printers with fast and easy printing service and selection.
